LETTERS FROM CURACAO, 2016, pencil on paper, variable size Together with the students of the IBB, we have developed a project, which was inspired by the letters of Van Gogh. The students have send letters with sketches to 25 people in Curaçao (with a total of hundred) in which they described their experiences during the project: the concept of dilution, the interaction with the psychiatric patients, how it is to be in an art school on the terrain of a psychiatric institution and they wrote and designed about the fantasies and dreams of patients and themselves. With this project we have shared the concept of dilution with a large audience. The recipients of the letters (actors, politicians, school teachers, friends and family etc.) were asked to return these letters during the closing event. The project was supported by the Mondriaan Fund. |
